Brazil - Daterra Sunset

A coffee cherry normally grows two flat beans. Once in a while just one, and it grows round: a peaberry. Pickers sort them out separately, because one bean getting all the cherry's nutrients tastes more concentrated. The Sunset is made of nothing else. It comes from Daterra in Minas Gerais, a Brazilian farm we like working with because they've spent years proving that traceability and quality work at scale too. The peaberries come from several varieties and dry inside the whole cherry (natural). In the cup: pecan, dried apricot, orange. A Brazilian with more brightness than you'd expect. Great as espresso, easy-going as filter. That orange note keeps a cappuccino surprisingly fresh. Things people ask us What's a peaberry? A cherry with one round bean instead of two flat ones.
