ETHIOPIA BENTI NENKA, Filter
Benti Nenka is a distinctive coffee from the Guji region of southern Ethiopia, an area celebrated for producing vibrant, aromatic and complex coffees. This lot undergoes a 72-hour anaerobic fermentation with pineapple, a co-fermentation process that brings an additional layer of tropical fruit character to the coffee. The coffee cherries are fermented in a controlled, oxygen-limited environment alongside pineapple before being carefully dried as a natural process coffee. This combination of fermentation and fruit co-fermentation creates an expressive and highly aromatic cup. Expect juicy acidity, pronounced tropical fruit sweetness and a rich, vibrant body, with flavours that can evoke pineapple, ripe tropical fruits, berries and delicate floral notes. The extended fermentation adds depth and complexity while enhancing the coffee’s naturally fruit-forward character. This is a modern and experimental expression of Ethiopian coffee, combining the elegant qualities of Guji with an adventurous pineapple co-fermentation to create a memorable and intensely fruity cup.
